Youth Services
Ages 13 to 17
At Hispanic Community Counseling Services (HCCS), we are committed to empowering youth in North Philadelphia to overcome mental health and behavioral challenges through culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care. Our Youth Services provide comprehensive, bilingual support for adolescents ages 13 and older, helping them build resilience, navigate life’s challenges, and thrive in their communities.

What are Youth Services?
Our Youth Services are tailored to address the unique emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of adolescents, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and behavioral issues. Delivered by our bilingual and bicultural therapists, these services are designed to resonate with Hispanic cultural values such as familismo (family importance), respeto (respect), and personalismo (personal connection).
We offer a range of evidence-based interventions, including individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychological testing, and mobile therapy, all integrated into personalized treatment plans that foster empowerment and growth.
Our Services
- Individual Therapy: One-on-one sessions with a therapist to help youth explore emotions, develop coping strategies, and address challenges like anxiety or trauma using approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.
- Family Therapy: Sessions involving parents, guardians, or siblings to strengthen family relationships, improve communication, and support the youth’s recovery in a culturally relevant context.
- Group Therapy: Peer-based sessions where youth connect with others facing similar challenges, building social skills, self-esteem, and emotional support in a safe, communal environment.
- Psychiatric Evaluations: Thorough assessments by psychiatric professionals to diagnose conditions and guide treatment, ensuring cultural sensitivity and family collaboration.
- Medication Management: Expert oversight of medications for conditions like depression or ADHD, with regular follow-ups to ensure effectiveness and minimize side effects.
- Psychological Testing: Standardized assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning, aiding in diagnosis and planning for school or social support.
- Mobile Therapy: Therapy delivered in-home or in community settings like schools, removing barriers like transportation and providing care in familiar environments.
